Badilisha Ecovillage Foundation was born of the 1992 Earth Summit where indigenous people everywhere first gathered to strive for a way of living which moves society towards a sustainable, stable and peaceful world.

We are determined to promote Permaculture to help mitigate and restore the depleted Rusinga Island Ecosystems. Also our Permaculture projects are geared towards enhancing the food insecurity and poverty. Badilisha is also implementing conservation of Rusinga Island hilltops in close collaboration with community forest association, schools, women groups, individual farmers.

We need volunteers to help in our Permaculture farm, tree nursery, and also in our new project which works with the kids (Rusinga Eco-Active Learning - Real Kids), which is offering lifelong learning in nature related activities in a class without walls which is quite and secure.
