About Volunteer 4 Africa

Volunteer 4 Africa is an independent and non profit organization that supports various charities, non-profits and governmental agencies operating in Africa by informing international volunteers about their vital work in the domains of community development, conservation, education, indigenous rights, poverty and disease etc.

The purpose of Volunteer 4 Africa is twofold. Firstly, it is our aim to make it cheaper for people of all ages to volunteer by providing information about the widest range of low cost volunteering opportunities throughout Africa. Why spend hours searching the internet for a project in Africa when through our alliances and hard work we already have some of the lowest cost volunteer programmes on our database. Volunteer 4 Africa provides an easily accessible network of information to prospective volunteers from all countries.

Secondly, it is generally acknowledged that many of the projects undertaken in Africa would not function without the support and financial input of international volunteers. Your contribution as a volunteer could help ensure the long-term survival of an endangered species or ensure children receive the education they deserve. This is because you are actively participating in the conservation of a species or educational programme . Your participation as a volunteer can also make a positive impact on the local economy.

Our mission is clearly of benefit to all parties involved and we hope you support us in our endeavour to support aid-reliant organizations throughout Africa.

Volunteer 4 Africa adheres to a strict environmental policy and strongly believes in the principles of sustainability. To this end, this site is hosted at 1and1 and powered by renewable energy. We have also offset 2.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions in Climate Care's (pdf 189K) CO2 reduction project in order to ensure this site is carbon neutral. We use no paper or other materials and all business is conducted online. These actions protect our natural resources, prevent unnecessary pollution and enable us to call ourselves one of the ‘greenest’ organizations on the web.
